June 2011 Monthly Wrap-Up

 

Musical goal: beauty and distance

Technical goal: solid mixes

 

Electronic. Beautiful. Distant. That was the plan...

 

Week #22: This started as one thing but became an exercise in reverb and delay. I like some of the sounds, but mostly it feels flat.

 

Week #23: Epic hero post-electronic ish. I like the way this came out -- simple, sonically rich.

 

Week #24: WIR HABEN SPROCKETS, JA?

 

Week #25: Tension techno. Distant, minimal, vaguely worrisome.

 

Week #26: I wanted to write another "epic" electronic track, but in an odd time signature. This one is in seven, though you might not pick up on it until the drums come in. Happy with how this one turned out!

 

Plan for July: more of the same, maybe?
